Trip Information

Marshyangdi river is a wonderful river with white water moving very forcefully and violently through northern slopes of Annapurna Mountains. Rapidly moving white waters with beautiful and breathtaking views of Manaslu and Annapurna mountain range can be your right choice for rafting. Marshyangdi flows east via Manag valley and finally joins to Trishuli river at Muglin. Marshyangdi river rafting might be most mesmerizing and unforgettable experience of rafting. ITINARARY

Day 1: Drive to Khudi, Hike to Bhulbhule

You will be taken to Khudi by a bus that takes about 8 hours. After reaching Khudi, we get out of the vehicle. Later on, you will be moving towards Bhulbhule following a trail passing through a village. Views of the mountains and beautiful landscapes can be enjoyed all the way up to our stopping point in Bhulbhule. The night will be spent in the tented camps there.

 

Day 2: Rafting Begins from Ngadi

The most exciting day begins with a short hike to Ngadi. It is the put-in point or the point from where our rafting begins. Upon reaching Ngadi, we will have lunch and get ready for the exciting journey. Shortly, you will be playing with crystal blue water and tackling fe rapids. Rafting will take us around Khudi and camping will be arranged at a suitable place near the river.

Day 3: Journey Continues

Having panoramic view of mountains and playing with rapidly flowing white water of Marshyangdi, we continue our rafting journey. The flow of water in the river increases as more tributaries join in making it more challenging and exciting to raft The camp will set up on the beautiful beach of Marshyangdi river which will be near the Middle Marsyangdi Hydropower Dam.. Night will turn into morning in the camp under clear sky with beautiful moon.

 

Day 4: Final day of rafting, ends at Turture

At morning after breakfast, you will be taken to Paundi. From there, you will raft downwards for about three hours. Today is the final day of rafting and you will stumble upon few class 3 rapids. Finally, you reach Turture, a village in Tanahun district. There you can get the opportunity to be familiar with local culture and lifestyles. Later on, after lunch you will drive back to Kathmandu after having life time experience of rafting.

What is included?

  • All the transportation between airport and hotel
  • Meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) during the raft trip. The food served will be western and continental.
  • River permit charges and all government taxes
  • Necessary equipments including high quality self-bailing rafts, life jackets, helmets, plastic paddles, wetsuits (only during the winter) on certain rivers, dry bags for gear, camera barrels and all safety and medical equipments
  • Safety kayak boats
  • Necessary staffs (Guides, helpers, cooks etc)
  • Expenses for tented accommodation at river beach with camp fire
  • Food, accommodation, transportation, insurance and salary of all staff

  • Nepal Visa fee (bring accurate USD cash and two passport photographs)
  • International airfare to and from Kathmandu
  • Excess baggage charges
  • Extra night accommodation in Kathmandu because of early arrival, late departure, early return from mountain (due to any reason) than the scheduled itinerary
  • Lunch and evening meals in Kathmandu (and also in the case of early return from mountain than the scheduled itinerary)

  • Personal expenses (phone calls, laundry, bar bills, battery recharge, extra porters, bottle or boiled water, shower etc)

Accommodation

Accomodations

3 star hotels in Kathmandu will be provided and in days during the trek you will have standard tea houses as accommodations. Rooms will be on twin sharing basis and you will be charged extra if you need a single room. Cases may be different for solo travelers and odd numbered groups or genetically different peoples travelling together. Standard teahouses will be provided during the trip days.

Meals

During a Tea House trek you will usually have breakfast and dinner in the Tea House, lunch will be eaten at one of the trail side restaurants. Every Tea House serves the traditional Nepali meal Dal Bhat (rice and lentils), as well as a variety of different food items, such as rice, vegetables, noodles, potatoes and soup. Some have Nepali versions of western food such as pizza, pasta and French fries. Soft drinks, snacks and beer are available in most of the Tea Houses and trail side restaurants. And of course Nepali milk tea is served everywhere.

 

Best Season

The best seasons to join this trek are autumn and spring. The weather is clear and views are breathtaking. Winter obviously is a good choice but you need to withstand strong colds. Summer or Monsoon will be affected by rainfalls but a good choice if you are into botany.

An amazing trip with Ganesh Himal Hiking to Kathmandu, Mt. Everest BC, Pokhara and Chitwas

We received outstanding personal service from Binod and his team at Ganesh Himal Hiking Team. It was an exceptional experience in every way. We were met at the airport, he gave us personal transportation along with many great tours to cultural sites in Kathmandu, he took us to some wonderful restaurants and he set us up in a very nice hotel in Thammel. Binod really knows how to take great care of his clients with a personal touch. We also loved meeting his mother, father and his family which added greatly to our cultural experience in Nepal.

Additionally, Binod's brother Bishnu, was our guide on our trek to Mt. Everest Base Camp. Bishnu took excellent care of my trekking partner and me throughout the trek to Everest Base Camp and back. Our trek was also an amazing cultural experience as well as a remarkable trekking experience! We loved the Nepalese people and, of course, we loved seeing the incredible scenery. Also, Binod personally guided us on a trip to Pokhara, Nepal where he arranged for us a guided rafting trip, a paragliding trip and a trip to Chitwan National Park where we did a tour on the back of an elephant spotting wildlife and we were able to attend a nice cultural program. The accommodations in Pokhara and the food were fantastic. I highly recommend Binod and his Ganesh Himal Hiking Team to anyone who is interested in receiving the best service and the best trekking and cultural experience in Nepal.
