Siklis Trekking

Trip Information

Siklis Trekking in the Annapurna region is one of the popular and moderately easy treks located at the northeast of Pokhara at an altitude of 2000 meters. Trekking to this Siklis region is one of the untouched beautiful natural environment with beautiful villages and traditional cultures of Nepal. Hardly few visitors had visited this place although it is quite popular nowadays.

In 1980, Prince Charles of England visited this 2nd largest Gurung (Gurkhas) community to develop this place into an ideal eco - trekking route. So this place – Siklis is also known as the Royal Trek which is snuggled down below the lofty mountain Annapurna II (7937 m) and Annapurna IV (7525 m).

Siklis trekking offers you the most magnificent views of Mount Dhaulagiri (8167 m), Hiunchuli (6336 m), Machapuchre (Fishtail – 6999 m), Lamjung Himal (6986 m), Annapurna II (7939 m) and Annapurna IV (7525 m) and many other peaks in one complete package. Abundant flora – thick rhododendron forests, orchid’s, pine, juniper, oak, etc. and fauna with different species of birds chirruping can be detected throughout your trail. You will be observing the local handicrafts made by the local people residing here. You will also be viewing two best lakes - Rupa Tal (lake) - one of the 3rd biggest lake in Nepal and the Begnas Tal (lake) - one of the 2nd largest lake after Phewa Tal (lake).

Trekking to Siklis starts from a scenic flight Pokhara or by a tourist vehicle on land which takes a maximum of 6 hours to reach. On the next day onwards we start trekking every day to finally reach fine conserved Siklis (1980 m) through the Gurung (Gurkha) villages.

On our trail, we can spot the entire views of the mountains mentioned above & we will pass through the pristine meadows with dense rhododendron. After exploring all the features in Siklis, we then consequently reach Pokhara. From Pokhara, we will return back to Kathmandu by flight or either by private tourist bus.

This trekking can be done in the months of February-June and September-November. The other remaining months are also good for trekking but due to the heavy rains - we might not be able to view the stunning scenery. GHHT (Ganesh Himal Hiking Team) lets you customize the itinerary and also organizes this trek as according to your vacation schedule. Normally, you are required to trek for 4-6 hours each day. We start our trek after breakfast and stop for the lunch. We trek for 3-4 hours after lunch to reach our destination. If we reach our destination in afternoon, you can spend rest of the hours relaxing, take shower or just wander around.

Changes in the Itinerary:

Our regular itinerary of the Siklis Trek is 8 days unless you have customized it.  The itinerary has been carefully designed by our operation manager which is very pragmatic & includes the high altitude acclimatizing. These 8 days includes your arrival day, departure and sightseeing Kathmandu. It also may have an extra day which allows flexibility to adjust the delay or cancellation of flight due to sudden changes in the Himalayan weather.

If you would like to extend more days or lessen some, we surely can do that as per your wish.

Safety Measures:

Client’s safety is our main priority and we make sure that each and every client is well taken care of.  If by chance anyone gets sick during the trek, we will take you to the nearest hospital as soon as possible. If the condition is serious – we will use the rescue helicopter to take you to the nearest hospital while all the expenses will be carried out by the travel insurance company. We suggest you get insured for up to 6000 meters.

Please go thoroughly what’s covered and not in the insurance policy.

Booking and Payment:

After confirming or booking the trip – all we need is the copy of the passport, insurance policy, and the international flight details (ticket). Then, a 20% advance deposit is required for any trip, trek or expedition which is not refundable - used for reservations of hotels and lodges according to the itinerary.

The remaining balance is due when you arrive at Kathmandu and can be paid by any means convenient to you. We prefer payment via cash (to avoid any extra service charge) but bank transfer, credit cards, western union, and pay pal are also the accepted form of payments.

An amazing trip with Ganesh Himal Hiking to Kathmandu, Mt. Everest BC, Pokhara and Chitwas

Rating: 5 - Excellent

We received outstanding personal service from Binod and his team at Ganesh Himal Hiking Team. It was an exceptional experience in every way. We were met at the airport, he gave us personal transportation along with many great tours to cultural sites in Kathmandu, he took us to some wonderful restaurants and he set us up in a very nice hotel in Thammel. Binod really knows how to take great care of his clients with a personal touch. We also loved meeting his mother, father and his family which added greatly to our cultural experience in Nepal.

Additionally, Binod's brother Bishnu, was our guide on our trek to Mt. Everest Base Camp. Bishnu took excellent care of my trekking partner and me throughout the trek to Everest Base Camp and back. Our trek was also an amazing cultural experience as well as a remarkable trekking experience! We loved the Nepalese people and, of course, we loved seeing the incredible scenery. Also, Binod personally guided us on a trip to Pokhara, Nepal where he arranged for us a guided rafting trip, a paragliding trip and a trip to Chitwan National Park where we did a tour on the back of an elephant spotting wildlife and we were able to attend a nice cultural program. The accommodations in Pokhara and the food were fantastic. I highly recommend Binod and his Ganesh Himal Hiking Team to anyone who is interested in receiving the best service and the best trekking and cultural experience in Nepal.
