Lower dolpo trekking bids you one of the outstanding trekking experiences in the remote western region of Nepal. For trekkers it was opened only in 1982 where the main point is Shey phoksundu. This region is situated inside the Shey phoksundu National Park of Mid-western Nepal behind the Dhaulagiri massif at the altitude 8,172m / 26,811ft to the Tibetan plateau. According to the myth this concealed gorge was created by Guru Rimpoche for the Buddhists to take refuge when they are in trouble.
Lower Dolpo trekking gives you the exciting feature is that the path goes through the three high passes – Kagmara La 5115meter, Baga La 5090m and Numa La 5360meter. This trekking trail goes by the side of the almighty Phoksundo Lake which is inblue in color and one of the deepest lake in Nepal with surrounding snow peaks of Kanjiroba Himal where we will be set our tent and halt our night and enjoy the view with enough time to get a perfect picturesque even you get to observe during the trail is one of the secluded Buddhist monasteries and abundant rare and jeopardized species of wildlife and plants, wildlife like Blue sheep, Mountain Goat, Jackal, thar, rare monkey, Wolf and Snow Leopard, Buddhist monasteries and the traditional culture of Karnali etc. The other main attraction of this lower Dolpo trek is you can see the yak caravans in the summer season where the Tibetan folks bring down the yak from the higher altitude to the lower land for the grazing. Even the beautiful flora can be perceived during your trail like blue pine, cypress, poplar, spruce, deodar, fir and birch.
Lower Dolpo Trekking set off from Juphal and also ends at Juphal. The path is a soberly arduous walk alongside the subordinate area of Dolpo. Shey Phoksundo Lake is the deepest Lake of Nepal which is positioned at the altitude of 3,611.5 meter on this region. The cultural traditions of this area are basically linked with Tibetan because most of the people are migrated from the Tibet so they basically follow the Buddhists culture. . A physically fit person can do this trip anytime in the month of April to October but after October can be a bit risky as the passes are covered by the snow.

An amazing trip with Ganesh Himal Hiking to Kathmandu, Mt. Everest BC, Pokhara and Chitwas
hil32015 | Spokane, Washington | October 26 , 2014
We received outstanding personal service from Binod and his team at Ganesh Himal Hiking Team. It was an exceptional experience in every way. We were met at the airport, he gave us personal transportation along with many great tours to cultural sites in Kathmandu, he took us to some wonderful restaurants and he set us up in a very nice hotel in Thammel. Binod really knows how to take great care of his clients with a personal touch. We also loved meeting his mother, father and his family which added greatly to our cultural experience in Nepal.
Additionally, Binod's brother Bishnu, was our guide on our trek to Mt. Everest Base Camp. Bishnu took excellent care of my trekking partner and me throughout the trek to Everest Base Camp and back. Our trek was also an amazing cultural experience as well as a remarkable trekking experience! We loved the Nepalese people and, of course, we loved seeing the incredible scenery. Also, Binod personally guided us on a trip to Pokhara, Nepal where he arranged for us a guided rafting trip, a paragliding trip and a trip to Chitwan National Park where we did a tour on the back of an elephant spotting wildlife and we were able to attend a nice cultural program. The accommodations in Pokhara and the food were fantastic. I highly recommend Binod and his Ganesh Himal Hiking Team to anyone who is interested in receiving the best service and the best trekking and cultural experience in Nepal.
