Trip Information

Rolwaling Valley lies in the east-central part of Nepal alongside the Tibetan border.

This valley is simply known as the grave valley because of its site - buried down amid steep ice giants. Rolwaling Valley lies within Langtang and Everest ranges & one of the key highlights of this challenging trek is that you can sight both the mountain ranges of Everest and Langtang at once from this particular region.

The explorers will be also be delighted with fascinating views of the grandiose ranges of Rolwaling Himal which includes Mount Gauri Shankar (7134 m & 23475 feet), Mount Melungtse (7181 m) and Mount Melungtse II (7023 m) - which is inside Tibet with 50 additional peaks over 6000 m.

Rolwaling Trek is fully dedicated for the purpose to see the picturesque views of exotic nature & the cultural beauty of Nepal. Locals and people around believe that this Rolwaling Valley is home of famous “Yeti”, yet to be confirmed by the researchers. Trekking to the Rolwaling Valley is a full camping trek which begins from Bahrabise (800 m) north-east side of Kathmandu nearby China/Tibet border. This trekking tracks passes by harsh and threatening Himalaya’s route, so it is not easy going as for family trekking.

We will be hiking to Khare, Jagat, Simigaun, Daldung La, Bending (which is the main town of this area) and to the Na village on the next day. We will also be doing a day hike to Tso Rolpa Lake (4550 m), then back to Na village again. After reaching Na village, we will be moving downward from Rolwaling valley to Tashi Lapcha Pass. This trek is not that easy going as only a few explorers had thrived because of the mountainous and rocky terrain of Nepal & China (Tibet).

So, one must need technical ascending experience and some mountaineering skills/knowledge.

On this trek, some other scenic views are also of the Mount Melungtse (7181 m), Mount Tashi Lapcha and Mount Dorjee Lakpa. After crossing through the rugged glacier, we then reach Tashi Lapcha Pass (5755 m). We will carry on to pass the trail, then descends to Thame village – the birthplace of famous mountaineer and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, which is in the Khumbu Valley. In this Khumbu valley, there are lots of Sherpa communities where you can have firsthand experience of their culture and livelihood.

This Rolwaling region is a home to some around 58000 people, the largest group being are Tamangs followed by Sherpa’s and Chettris. On the trail, you will be spotting beautiful waterfalls, Tso Rolpa Lake, monasteries, and mind-blowing beautiful landscapes.

Our GHHT (Ganesh Himal Hiking Team) provides you with well-equipped gear, best facilities, and skilled guides and porters – so that you can achieve your trek with ease in this difficult and remote trekking area. An amazing trip with Ganesh Himal Hiking to Kathmandu, Mt. Everest BC, Pokhara and Chitwas

hil32015 | Spokane, Washington | October 26 , 2014

Rating: 5 - Excellent

We received outstanding personal service from Binod and his team at Ganesh Himal Hiking Team. It was an exceptional experience in every way. We were met at the airport, he gave us personal transportation along with many great tours to cultural sites in Kathmandu, he took us to some wonderful restaurants and he set us up in a very nice hotel in Thammel. Binod really knows how to take great care of his clients with a personal touch. We also loved meeting his mother, father and his family which added greatly to our cultural experience in Nepal.

Additionally, Binod's brother Bishnu, was our guide on our trek to Mt. Everest Base Camp. Bishnu took excellent care of my trekking partner and me throughout the trek to Everest Base Camp and back. Our trek was also an amazing cultural experience as well as a remarkable trekking experience! We loved the Nepalese people and, of course, we loved seeing the incredible scenery. Also, Binod personally guided us on a trip to Pokhara, Nepal where he arranged for us a guided rafting trip, a paragliding trip and a trip to Chitwan National Park where we did a tour on the back of an elephant spotting wildlife and we were able to attend a nice cultural program. The accommodations in Pokhara and the food were fantastic. I highly recommend Binod and his Ganesh Himal Hiking Team to anyone who is interested in receiving the best service and the best trekking and cultural experience in Nepal.
