Trip Information

Gosaikunda at an altitude 4380 meters and 14370 feet is one of the renowned pilgrimage site in Nepal. This Gosaikunda Lake - a Hindu pilgrimage site is visited by thousands of Hindu devotees every year especially in full moon day in the month of August.

Devotees believe that this Lake has origins from the God. Lord Shiva – one of the prominent figure in the Hindu Scripture – created this sacred lake where devotees take a dip in this lake to wash away their sins, pains, and sorrows. This holy lake is also a sacred site for Buddhists followers. The near outlook of Gosaikunda lake is also the Langtang Himalayan range alongside exploring local Tamang heritages. The pivotal magnetism of Langtang Gosaikunda is a trek to the lake at a high elevation which turns to be a great adventure for explorers.

Trekking to Gosaikunda starts from Kathmandu, heading to Dhunche (1950 meters) which takes almost about 6 hours to reach passing through alluring forests like rhododendron, oak, bamboo & gorges with beautiful landscapes. From Dhunche, we head to Syabru ascending uphill where we get to perceive the flawless and spectacular views of Mount Manaslu, Dorje Lakpa, Langtang Ranges, Ganesh Himal and Mount Kerung including several other snowcapped peaks.

On the trail to this trek, you will also be visiting some of the Sherpa and Tamang communities. Subsequently trekking along, we then reach Sing Gompa exiting Syabru behind.

After suitably adapting the climate for the day - we carry on our trip to Gosaikunda Lake. This lake also offers the glittering sights of other ponds close by during sunrise. Next, we will be following the steep trail to Ghopte followed by Kutumsang and Pati Bhanjyang over forests, terraced meadows, and small hamlets. Finally, our Langtang Gosaikunda trek finally comes to the end after trekking towards Sundarijal followed by an hour drive back to Kathmandu.

This picture-perfect timing for trekking to the Gosainkunda is from the month of March to May and also from September to December. Summarizing, Langtang Gosaikunda Trek organized by GHHT gives you a delightful chance to visit and get insights of the famed pilgrimage site – Gosaikunda Lake, along with the magnificent views of Himalayas.

For attempting this trek, one requires a good level of physical fitness as it encompasses trekking round high passes. If you have any inquiries about this trek to the sacred site, please feel free to email or contact us. We will respond promptly.

These 15 days includes your arrival day, departure and sightseeing Kathmandu. It also may have an extra day which allows flexibility to adjust the delay or cancellation of flight due to sudden changes in the Himalayan weather (applies according to the location).

If you would like to extend more days or lessen some, we surely can do that as per your wish.

Client’s safety is our main priority and we make sure that each and every client is well taken care of. If by chance anyone gets sick during the trek, we will take you to the nearest hospital as soon as possible. If the condition is serious – we will use the rescue helicopter to take you to the nearest hospital while all the expenses will be carried out by the travel insurance company. We suggest you get insured for up to 6000 meters.

An amazing trip with Ganesh Himal Hiking to Kathmandu, Mt. Everest BC, Pokhara and Chitwas

hil32015 | Spokane, Washington | October 26 , 2014

Rating: 5 - Excellent

We received outstanding personal service from Binod and his team at Ganesh Himal Hiking Team. It was an exceptional experience in every way. We were met at the airport, he gave us personal transportation along with many great tours to cultural sites in Kathmandu, he took us to some wonderful restaurants and he set us up in a very nice hotel in Thammel. Binod really knows how to take great care of his clients with a personal touch. We also loved meeting his mother, father and his family which added greatly to our cultural experience in Nepal.

Additionally, Binod's brother Bishnu, was our guide on our trek to Mt. Everest Base Camp. Bishnu took excellent care of my trekking partner and me throughout the trek to Everest Base Camp and back. Our trek was also an amazing cultural experience as well as a remarkable trekking experience! We loved the Nepalese people and, of course, we loved seeing the incredible scenery. Also, Binod personally guided us on a trip to Pokhara, Nepal where he arranged for us a guided rafting trip, a paragliding trip and a trip to Chitwan National Park where we did a tour on the back of an elephant spotting wildlife and we were able to attend a nice cultural program. The accommodations in Pokhara and the food were fantastic. I highly recommend Binod and his Ganesh Himal Hiking Team to anyone who is interested in receiving the best service and the best trekking and cultural experience in Nepal.
