The gompas and stupa in Namo Buddha are worth visiting, as they will provide holy feeling and peace to you. This trip will provide you an awesome experience, allowing you to get closer to the nature just away from the busy capital city.

Day 1 - Trek starts from Sundarijal

We will begin our trip with a short one hour drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal and hiking from Sundarijal to Chisapani. Chisapani is at an altitude of 2300 meters. It takes about four and half hours to reach Chisapani. We will begin our trek, by entering through the Shivapuri watershed and Mulkharka, a Tamang village. We will continue our trek enjoying the wonders of nature. A lodge or a guest house will be arranged for your overnight stay in Chisapani.

Day 2 - Chisapani to Nagarkot

We move ahead to from Chisapani on the second day. It takes approximately six and half hours to reach Nagarkot (2175 meters). We will continue the trek with charming trails moving ahead towards Nagarkot. Nagarkot is one of the most popular destinations to view the Himalaya range, stretching from Dhaulagiri in the west all the way past Everest to Kanchenjunga in the east. The majesty and magical sunrise and sunset at Nagarkot will greet the visitors. You will stay in a lodge or hotel in Nagarkot.

Day 3 - Nagarkot to Dhulikhel

The day starts with a beautiful sunrise view. After breakfast, we will continue our trek to reach Dhulikhel from Nagarkot. It takes about six hours to reach Dhulikhel. Dhulikhel (1440 meters) is a small town of Newar community with a long history. According to the records, it has been around for more than 500 years. As you approach Dhulikhel, you will be amazed by the cultural diversities, landscape, traditional practice and rich birdlife. The artistic skills, woodcraft and rituals of its Newar inhabitants have made this place charming and fascinating. Bare –brick houses with wooden windows, Pagoda style temples, sloping roofs are lined along the streets. The holy places here are the Narayan and Harsiddhi temple which are decorated by elegant wood carvings. In the western part of Dhulikhel, the Gokhureswar Mahadev temple is situated in a peaceful and scenic spot.

Day 4 - Trek to Nabu Buddha, Return to Kathmandu

We will continue our trek to Namo Buddha in Panauti . It takes about four and half hours to reach Namo Buddha. From Dhulikhel we will climb up to the Kali mandir. We will continue our trek to the village of Kavre and will move past tea houses. We will again climb through pine woods past Phulbari and couple of hills up and down before we reach Namo Buddha. Namo Buddha is a popular Buddhist pilgrimage located in Kavre district about 38 km from Kathmandu. It is situated at an altitude of 1750 meters. The stupa resembles very ancient holy site where legendary prince named Mahasattva offered him to a starved Tigress with several underfed cubs. The prince is considered as an incarnation of Gautam Buddha. This history is depicted in a stone slab and placed right next to a holy stupa. This is the end point of our trekking. The Wonderful Environment of the Himalayas is also an extremely fragile one. Increasing population density and numbers of trekkers threaten the very beauty of Nepal. At GHH Team, we are extremely conscious about the environment and aim to minimize our impact as much as possible. As deforestation is one of the greatest environmental threats we face, we do not encourage camp fires and use kerosene for cooking as an alternative fuel to wood. We also discourage trekkers from using wood-fuelled hot showers in lodges along the way. Many lodges, however, now provide solar hot showers, a far more eco-friendly alternative.

Garbage disposal is another major problem and some of the busier trails can, at times, appear strewn with litter for miles. Our staff members are well motivated towards eco-friendly practices. We carry out all our garbage, apart from that which can be safely and easily burnt at the campsite. Our aim is to help protect and preserve this beautiful environment for future generations of trekkers to enjoy and we advise the same to you to keep the garbage on proper site and take return those with you to homes which are Non- biodegradable.

An amazing trip with Ganesh Himal Hiking to Kathmandu, Mt. Everest BC, Pokhara and Chitwas

Rating: 5 - Excellent

We received outstanding personal service from Binod and his team at Ganesh Himal Hiking Team. It was an exceptional experience in every way. We were met at the airport, he gave us personal transportation along with many great tours to cultural sites in Kathmandu, he took us to some wonderful restaurants and he set us up in a very nice hotel in Thammel. Binod really knows how to take great care of his clients with a personal touch. We also loved meeting his mother, father and his family which added greatly to our cultural experience in Nepal.

Additionally, Binod's brother Bishnu, was our guide on our trek to Mt. Everest Base Camp. Bishnu took excellent care of my trekking partner and me throughout the trek to Everest Base Camp and back. Our trek was also an amazing cultural experience as well as a remarkable trekking experience! We loved the Nepalese people and, of course, we loved seeing the incredible scenery. Also, Binod personally guided us on a trip to Pokhara, Nepal where he arranged for us a guided rafting trip, a paragliding trip and a trip to Chitwan National Park where we did a tour on the back of an elephant spotting wildlife and we were able to attend a nice cultural program. The accommodations in Pokhara and the food were fantastic. I highly recommend Binod and his Ganesh Himal Hiking Team to anyone who is interested in receiving the best service and the best trekking and cultural experience in Nepal.
